Eastern Kentucky’s Take Back the Night Rally

The below write up was done as an overview of what the rally entailed.  We encourage anyone that is going to a college or university that doesn’t have a Take Back the Night Rally to look into it and see how to make it happen on your campus!  If you don’t know where to start, let us know, we may be able to help you.  Take Back the Night is an internationally held march and rally intended as a protest and direct action against rape and other forms of sexual violence, some campus events include domestic violence awareness along with other forms of violence and abuse awareness.

Take Back Your Life

    Was the message for Eastern Kentucky’s Take Back the Night Rally. Janie Webster Leech shared her story about her daughter’s sexual abuse, her court battle, and her life as a fugitive after fleeing the country with her child. In 2000 she received instructions on how to hook up with the underground and yet chose to venture out on her own. Someone from the audience asked why she had to run, when she had mental health professionals who could prove her child was sexually assaulted. Many of us have asked that question as well! (can I hear an AMEN?). This mother’s story was different from what we are used to. It is a story with a happy ending, and a journey to forgiveness and healing after sexual assault. While in Dublin, her ex-husband passed away, making it safe for her to return to the US. When she did so, a judge in Fayette County KY dropped her felony charges. (Unlawful flight and child abduction).

    College students from Eastern Kentucky University shared slam poetry and an assignment they had on stalking. Some students were stalked, and others did the stalking. Stalking included gifts, texting, facebook messages and more, but boundaries were set. It was interesting to hear the emotions shared of what it felt like to stalk and be stalked. That was a lesson that rippled out to their friends and hopefully will continue!

   Hopes Wings, the local shelter in Madison County, has struggled with grants since it has been open, and thanks to Mary Kay, will now be open and actually be able to offer shelter!

Just found the below press release today, and even though it is a few days past, I still felt it should be posted and shared out.

American Mothers Political Party Denounces “Dominick’s Law” In Michigan

Mothers are the natural guardians of children as Corrine Baker was when she used her own body as a shield to try and protect her child, Dominick Calhoun.

Neighbors ignored her screams and authorities said Baker did not do “enough” to protect her son from a fatal beating inflicted by her then-live-in boyfriend, Brandon Joshua-Frederick Hayes, who was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for torture, murder and child abuse.  This is what second degree (scapegoating) manslaughter looks like is when a woman endures this kind of beating trying to protect her child.

It has been duly noted that those supporting and those who are the purported “creators” of Dominick’s Law and the recent threats that have been made against those that support Dominick’s mother.  We are not deterred.

(g) "Serious mental harm" means an injury to a child's mental

condition or welfare that is not necessarily permanent but results

in visibly demonstrable manifestations of a substantial disorder of

thought or mood which significantly impairs judgment, behavior,

capacity to recognize reality, or ability to cope with the ordinary

demands of life.

“Dominick's Law” will only justify what Michigan has done to this battered mother who tried to protect her child and all future domestic abuse victims.  In essence, the pseudo-scientific theory of Parental Alienation Syndrome (PAS) will be legal in Michigan if this law is passed the way it is currently written.  What is “enough” to protect a child from harm?

American Mothers Political Party is not just mothers but fathers, sisters aunts, daughters, sons, nieces, nephews, family, friends, coworkers and neighbors who support battered mothers and their rights to raise their children.

Until human mothers are honored or recognized as the natural guardians of her children, no rights will exist for any one. “Mother” is the cry of the dying soldier on the battlefield, “Mother” is the first person everyone sees when they are born, all other species “get this” - all except the terribly wrong and failed “human experiment”' of the murder of motherhood, and everyone's else’s rights over mother nature’s.

AMPP will not support this law as it is currently written and will continue to denounce those that mean to do the supporters of mothers harm.

Take a Look at what 2nd degree (scapegoating) manslaughter is when you endure this kind of beating trying to PROTECT her CHILD.The DA is scapegoating the Calhoun's are scapegoating and Dominick's law will only JUSTIFY what MI has done to this battered mom who tried to protect!! 15-30 years!! Scapegoating!!!

Meandering and wandering around online this morning looking for something inspiring to blog I found the video below on YouTube.  It isn’t all that inspiring, so to speak, but it does go along with the theme of the post I did yesterday on exposing abusers for what they are. 

The main point I want you to take away from watching this video is this:  abusers manipulate every situation and will use their own kids to do so if that is how they can get the job done!!!  When the Family Courts are trying to decide which parent would be ‘in the best interest of the child’ to have physical custody they really should pay attention to this type of evidence.  It is a definite sign that a parent is abusive, and clearly does NOT hold their children’s best interest at heart. 

Don’t just listen to the words being said in this video.  Pay attention to the dates and times.  From what it looks like to me, this child is supposed to get to talk to their mom for 15 minutes on certain days and after 2 to 3 minutes each call for months the child is told to end the call by someone in the back ground.

Our hearts go out to this child and his mother!  If you happen to see this, know you are both in our prayers.

Abusers Doin’ What They Do and Gettin’ Exposed

I saw this posted on facebook… and since it said post it everywhere I wanted to share it here but with a few added words from me… so once you read what I’ve copied over please see my comments below it

~~PLEASE BLAST THIS ALL OVER THE INTERNET AND LET ALL WOMEN AND MEN KNOW THE TACTICS OF ABUSERS~~You have got to love it when abusers use the children in an attempt to hurt and further abuse you??? It is so blatantly obvious what they are doing and How they operate.... They have no clue how and what this movement is going to end up like!!!! Keep trying Bucky, YOU ARE EXPOSED... Thank you so much for continuing to give me drive to fight you abusers... Every tactic makes me more and more determined ;-) Nice try though!!!!

Yes, unfortunately abusers DO (always have and always will try) to use the kids as pawns in their own sick little games.  It is hurtful to the victimized parent, BUT what about the kids?  It is damaging to them as well, which just proves that the abuser is an abuser and will try to pull any damn thing they can to continue to control their victims.  Now let me explain a little about the above quote…
A kid texts their mom and says something like hey dad says my sibling needs more clothes.  The mom being a good mom and having clothes at her house calls the other kid to find out what is needed.  Rather than that kid saying I need this or that, that kid goes off on a rant (prompted by the abuser) at the mom. 
All too often abusers get custody of the kids because they have one asset the rest of society doesn’t have… they can charm anyone and can turn that on and off at the drop of a hat.  They are GREAT at manipulating people and they use this skill set they have to control their victims.  These victims include their OWN children!

New Study: Fathers do kill their kids just to hurt the moms

The article below covers a new study that gives us some data to refer to when stating what we have all known to be true for a few years:  Fathers who kill their kids do it out of revenge to the mom … usually for leaving them.  We have never argued that moms do NOT kill their kids, but have said that fewer of them do so and that they do so for different reasons than fathers that kill their children.  Finally someone completed a study on this and the below article gives the results.
